Hello
I'm Teri Persing of teribeads, known as Teri.p
here on JustBeads.
All my life I've indulged in a love affair with color, expressed through all sorts of of arts/crafts including knitting, sewing, embroidery,
quilting, polymer clay, and jewelry-making. In April 2003 I took a beginning lampworking class with Jari at Boca Loca Beads in
Indianapolis, and like so many others, fell in love. Choosing colors, manipulating molten glass, watching the chemistry of the flame - it's
all magic to me.
I started out on JustBeads selling polymer clay beads, then as my skills at the torch improved I moved over to glass. I'm happiest creating
relatively simple beads in sets, although I do enjoy making focals and occasionally sculptural pieces.
My studio boasts a
Nortel Minor torch, an Aim 84BD kiln, a wide variety of tools and presses, and a pretty good selection of glass and frit.
I work daily at my torch, creating sets of beads for bracelets, earrings and necklaces..... or whatever your imagination holds!
I grew up in a friendly semi-rural neighborhood in Indiana. The US Army took me to California; from there I moved to Arizona, then in 1999 I
moved back to Indiana. Now I live in that same neighborhood, across the road from my childhood home. My son Isaac attends the University of
Arizona, and my cat Zachary keeps my backyard free of mice. In between sessions at the torch you can find me reading a book, knitting socks, or
mowing the grass.
