We thought it would be fitting to introduce you to the woman who started it all. The JustBeads.com bead auction site represents the fruition of a personal dream in which she takes great pride in having made a reality. Everyone at JustBeads is thrilled to welcome in the New Year! It would be an understatement to say that 2009 was not a fun year for us. Due to circumstances far beyond our control, last year saw a catastrophic system crash that literally wiped out 10 years of data and history in a matter of moments. It was a devastating blow and for more than 5 months we worked through tears, frustration and personal anxiety to re-create the JustBeads site. As difficult as it was, we never wavered in our commitment to see JustBeads back on line once again.

On a very positive note, this past year has seen many wonderful changes and upgrades to the JustBeads.com Auction site. We now have a whole new look and lots of great new features. I would like to personally thank all of our loyal friends and members for being so patient with us while we worked through that nightmare. We look forward to this New Year and hope that you will enjoy the new look and many new features that are now part of the New JustBeads.com!

For more than 10 years, the JustBeads.com Bead Auction site has been in the forefront in supporting and promoting the self representing bead artist, (as well as the beading community at large). We were the FIRST site to create, promote and police categories created solely for the Self Representing Bead Artist....Not only in lampwork, but in ALL mediums. We were also the FIRST to create a "Featured Artist of the Month page" to help introduce new bead artists to the beading community.

Our work is NOT finished! We will continue to strive to provide the beading community with the best venue available anywhere for buying and selling beads. We have a bevy of new features that we want to implement that we believe will make the JustBeads site more User intuitive, increase member sales and generally make JustBeads a fun place to visit.

We've set some pretty high goals, but can't do it alone. As we work to continue rebuilding the JustBeads site, we need your support now more than ever!

1. List some new and interesting items
2. Bid on some of the wonderful beads that our sellers post to the JustBeads site
3. Ask your customers to join you in your support of JustBeads
4. Tell your friends about JustBeads

Our hope is that JustBeads.com will become "Home" to Bead enthusiasts everywhere! ° Goodbye Summer. Hello Autumn! Can you believe that Labor day is here already? Where did the Summer go?

° Autumn is such a wonderful time of year. This time of year nature displays all of her splendid beauty in such wonderful vibrant colors... Talk about a source of inspiration!!

° Autumn means: Kids are back in school, optimal weather for beadmaking, and all those wonderful holidays are just around the corner!

° Next month, October, is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Please check our our Bead Newsletter for more information about our annual commitment to help make a difference!

° We're still in the process of making and testing lots of neat features for the JustBeads site. If there is something you'd like us to include, just let us know. We'd be happy to consider it!

We would like to commend everyone who participated in our contest over the last two weeks for a job well done! The contest was not only fun....it was educational as well. It proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that we all get back what we put into something! Your overwhelming support of JustBeads resulted in a stellar week for auctions listed, multiple bidders and, ultimately auctions sold.

And the winner is........

Cheryl Harris, (JustBeads user name: Cherylsart). Cheryl sold a total of 42 different auction items during our two week contest! ..... Congratulations Cheryl!

In our continuing commitment to bead artists, we will be Showcasing Cheryl and her work on our FaceBook page. In addition, we will be contacting Cheryl, to make arrangements with her to upload a unique 468 x 60 banner ad that will link to all of her auctions here at JustBeads.com. The banner ad, devised to drive traffic to her auction listings and increase her sales is valued at $25.00 and will run at the top of all of our pages for the entire month of July!

We were so impressed with the results of this contest, that we feel compelled to give honorable mention to the 1st runner up. Congrats to Charlotte Spani, (JustBeads user name: EmeraldDolphin). ... You tallied up a very competitive 37 auctions sold!

To celebrate our successful Grand Re-Opening we have decided to run a contest starting today, June 7th and running through Saturday June 20th. We will announce the winner on June 21st. We were tossing ideas back and forth on what we could reward the winner with and then we decided that we would continue in the JustBeads tradition of promoting our artists. The winner of this contest will receive a full size banner ad on the JustBeads website which will link directly to their JB listings for an entire month. In addition to the banner ad the winner will be featured on our Facebook page with a link to his/her auctions.

How do you win? Simple. Whoever has the most sales in that two week period wins! We are not talking about the dollar amount of those sales but simply the number of sales. We are happy to announce that the Grand Re-Opening of the JustBeads.com Auction site will be on Tuesday May 26th 2009 at 00:00:01AM. At approximately 9:15AM on 12/14/08

The JustBeads.com site experienced a major disruption of service. In a matter of moments, we lost 10 years of data and history, including, among other things, member registration information. As a result, all members MUST complete our new simplified registration process.

We all suffered a devastating blow. The past 5 months have seen a lot of tears, frustration and anxiety. We have just become aware of the fact that Comcast.net, in an overzealous attempt to protect their members from "spam" email, is currently blocking delivery of JustBeads messages to our members.

Due to the large volume of messages that we send to our Comcast members, (listing confirmations, Bid confirmations, Winning bidder confirmations, closed auction notifications, etc.), Comcast has decided that these messages constitute "spam" and have decided to prevent you from receiving your much needed notifications.

If you are a Comcast member, we strongly urge you to contact them and demand that they deliver these messages to you. In the interim, we are doing everything that we can to contact them directly in an effort to resolve this unfortunate problem that they have created.

They're at it again! We've turned our programmers loose and some of the changes they are working on have already been released. We now have a new look to our Home Page! We believe that our members would rather see actual photos of items being Showcased on our Front Page than to just read auction titles, and a review of our sales statistics has proven us right! The photos clearly equate to more "Showcase" sales. In addition to the changes on our Home Page, our programmers are currently working on other changes that we hope will make the site more User Friendly and Intuitive. Among them is a revised registration page to help make it easier to increase our membership roles! If there are any site improvements that you would like us to pass on to our programmers, please feel free to let us know...This is YOUR site and your thoughts and opinions count!

This month's Featured artist graduated from art school in 1983 with an associate degree in graphic design. Over the years, she dabbled in all sorts of artistic media including airbrush paintings, drawing, pastels, pen and ink illustration, to name a few, and then finally, started creating beaded jewelry in 1989. He worked with them for over7 years and had his clinic for nearly 10. All that stopped abruptly one evening with a bad fall at a martial arts class. We've Unleashed Our Programmers Again!

Over the last several days we have been working feverishly to make JustBeads.com even more User Friendly and Intuitive. We have already completed work on two features and will be releasing others as work is completed.

"Block a Bidder" Although we would all prefer to be INCLUSIVE rather than EXCLUSIVE, we understand that, unfortunately, there are times when this tool will become necessary. Sellers can access this tool by clicking on "For Sellers" at the top of any of our pages and then on "Block a Bidder".

"Lost User Name/Password" We've made recovering lost User Names and Passwords much more User Friendly. Simply provide us with your email address, and we will zip them off to you immediately. You no longer need to know your "Keyword".....What the heck is a "keyword" anyway?

Watch for other exciting changes, including a "Save Favorite Sellers" feature and easier "Feedback" access. We want to make the JustBeads.com Bead Auction site the best bead site ANYWHERE!
